nian[edita]

Hi, hier waren keine "nians" nötig, "iha" heißt ja "in", und nach in steht nichts Genitivisches.

Und das hier Wikipedia:Kafé#Timor_Telecom_ho_Wikipedia ist ja ganz großartig. Ich fühle mich fast genötig, die zu liken ;) --MF-Warburg 01:09, 23 Agostu 2014 (UTC)

Oje, ich habe noch viel zu lernen. Tut mir leid, dass Du immer hinter mir her sauber machen musst. ;-) --J. Patrick Fischer (talk) 20:34, 23 Agostu 2014 (UTC)

Greeting[edita]

Hi Patrick, I am Abrao Ximenes, . I would like to contribute more articles in Tetun about East Timor. I need your guide how to use wikipedia. I get some difficults when I want to upload some new pictures and maps.

Thank you --Abraoximenes (talk) 22:35, 5 Outubru 2014 (UTC)

Pictures[edita]

Olá Patrick. Thanks for the help and discussion. I have deleted the picture you mentioned from the articles since yesterday. And I have changed it with other pictures. However I don't know yet how I could delete the pictures from Wikipedia because I don't know yet the location of the picture which I uploaded. I took the picture from our group, because we have a group that we always discuss and share about Baguia sub district. Therefore, although the pictures had not been taken by me however I have asked the people who took the pictures. Based on our Tetun orthography if we write the name of a place and a person we have to write based its official name, not based its pronunciation. In East Timor, We never write "Baguia" with "Bagia". How I can move a picture to the center/middle of the page? Sorry, my English is still very bad.

Thank you --Abraoximenes (talk) 22:35, 5 Outubru 2014 (UTC)

Hello Abrão! I just added a link to all Baguia photos on Commons into Bagia (subdistritu)#Ligasaun ba li'ur. You can find all your photos there. I put them in this category. You can find all your edits in commons here. I will add a "speedy deletion request" to the photo: {{Speedydeletion|copyright violation by mistake --~~~~}}.
Could you add further informations in English to the photos in Commons? Maybe in which suco it was made and what does it shows exactly?
I will start a discussion in Kafé Wikipedia about the placenames. Maybe you can join there. There are some further, who are saying, Lautein should be Lautém like in Portuguese. --J. Patrick Fischer (talk) 19:08, 6 Outubru 2014 (UTC)

ESEAP Conference 2018[edita]

Hello Patrick,

I’m Irvin from PhilWiki Community, a member of the Communication Committee of the ESEAP Conference. ESEAP Conference 2018 is a regional conference for Wikimedia communities throughout the ESEAP region: ESEAP stands for East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific. Taking place in Bali, Indonesia on 5–6 May 2018, this is the first regional conference for these Wikimedia communities.

East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific are the most under-represented regions within the Wikimedia community. There is a significant number of Wikimedia contributors in our regions, yet we continue to struggle in establishing a well-managed community. This conference will bring participants from various ESEAP communities together in order to better understand the issues and to look for solutions. It also aims to connect people of the Wikimedia movement within ESEAP regions, to share ideas, and to build regional collaborations that are impossible to achieve through online communication.

We’ve got a lot of participation from several countries, but we’re lacking from your country. As we need more participants from your country, we believe that your contribution and participation would be a valuable asset to the success of this event. If you would like to participate in the conference, please do fill the form as soon as possible (by April 5, 2018) and we’ll inform you if you get selected for the conference.

Thank you and we hope to see you soon. --Filipinayzd (talk) 05:42, 29 Marsu 2018 (UTC)

Hello Irvin,
thank you for the invitation. But I am just writting rudimentary articles in Tetun, because I am the main editor for Timor-Leste in German Wikipedia (and living in Germany). I published your information on the Facebook group of Wikipedia Tetun. Maybe some Timorese will react.
Greetings,
--J. Patrick Fischer (talk) 07:57, 29 Marsu 2018 (UTC)

    • The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.
    • If your community accepts an extension for articles, you should set up a page and allow participants to submit their contributions there.
    • In case of redirection not allowed submitting in Fountain tool, a workaround is to delete it, copy and submit again. Or a submission page can be used too.
    • Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
    • International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, they might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.

The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. February is around the corner and Wiki Loves Love team invites you to organize and promote WLL19 in your country and join hands with us to celebrate love and document it on Wikimedia Commons. The theme of 2019 is Festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love.

To organize Wiki Loves Love in your region, sign up at WLL Organizers page. You can also simply support and spread love by helping us translate the commons page in your local language which is open for translation.

The contest starts runs from 1-28 February 2019. Independent from if there is a local contest organised in your country, you can help by making the photo contest Wiki Loves Love more accessible and available to more people in the world by translating the upload wizard, templates and pages to your local language. See for an overview of templates/pages to be translated at our Translations page.

Imagine...The sum of all love!

Question[edita]

Hello.

Are there any users in Tetun Wikipedia, who speak Tetun, for article requests?

I realize that East Timor is a poor country, where telecommunications, the internet and computers are in short supply.

In case there are such users, I would like translation requests for potential new articles that are short and simple. Nothing demanding and not more than stubs.

Yours sincerely, Multituberculata (discussão) 17h19min de 2 de Novembru de 2021 (UTC)[responder]

Hello Multituberculata There are not many active, but automatic translation from English into Tetun works quite well with https://tetun.org/, especially if this are only small articles. Greetings, --J. Patrick Fischer (discussão) 18h55min de 3 de Novembru de 2021 (UTC)[responder]
--J. Patrick Fischer (discussão) 16h16min de 5 de Novembru de 2021 (UTC)[responder]
Thank you very much for the link. Although I can partially decipher Tetun and also Malay/Indonesian, mainly because they have many foreign words (and also have easy grammars), I am reluctant to create articles in languages I don't know. Nevertheless, thank you very much for the link. This will help me to learn Tetun words. Multituberculata (discussão) 14h05min de 6 de Novembru de 2021 (UTC)[responder]
